Meeting highlights

Thanks to everyone who attended last night's Parent Council meeting! It is great to have such a good turn out! The more people that people participate, the stronger the group gets.

Fundraiser updates:

• QSP profits: $748.11 (plus bonus for running consecutive years)
• Chocolate sales fundraiser targeting delivery for early December
  - volunteers required for sorting orders morning of Thursday December 3
• Dance-A-Thon to occur Feb 19
  - volunteers will be required
• Community garage sale tentatively Sat June 5 (pending confirmation of school availability)
• Crestwood school will be making a donation to Valleyfield

Fundraising:

• A vote was taken and this year's funds will be directed towards (in order of priority): 1) maintaining the snack program, 2) purchasing musical instruments, 3) purchasing recreational equipment, 4) bringing live performance into the school.
• Parent Council also fundraises to support the Grade 5 (and 6) graduating class trip

Premier's Awards:

• Last year, we submitted a formal nomination for Mrs. Hegedus
• the Council voted that this year we'd nominate the iCommunicate team (internet communications, eDocs, blogging): Mr. Jacinto, Miss Rattner, Miss Ansell, Miss Malenkovich, Ms. Cap
  

December concert will be held the week of Dec 14th.  Date to be determined.

As part of the Model School Initiative, arts programs such as mural creation and dance instruction are scheduled to occur in 2010.
