Working Group Meeting May 22 Report

The following is from the May 22nd "Call to Action" meeting for investigating the implementation of more after school clubs, activities and learning opportunities for the Valleyfield community.

On May 22 the working group met to discuss parent's needs and interests in making Valleyfield an even better place. We created three working groups:

1. One working group for tutoring and homework help that inquires into how to make this available after school for free to Valleyfield kids. This group is led by Miski A. and Nimo A.

2. One working group on sports/crafts/other leisure activities for kids (parents?) at Valleyfield. Muna M. is leading this group.

3. One working group for parent engagement with the goal to increase volunteer activity at the school and to increase the sense of community. Sabine D. is leading this group.

We have created an email list for this working group. If you wish to stay informed please contact Sarah A. and ask her to put you on this list. You are also invited to contact the lead parents for each working group if you have any ideas.

Our next meeting is scheduled for June 11 at 6pm in the school library. Please do not hesitate to join us to add your voice to this discussion.
