Principal's comments

• Review of New Pilot Process for Selecting Principals
• Ballroom Dance program to begin for grade 5 and 6 students
• Staff allocation for 2011-2012: secured 3 French Immersion teacher
  - headcount estimated to be ~356 (311 Full Time Equivalents)
• Full day kindergarten targetted for Fall 2012
• Will hold meeting to review next year's possible classroom models before April 11
• March 31st Healthy Eating Workshop:
- teachers and public health nurse - in conjunction with Toronto Schools on the Move - sign-up sheets to be distributed this week - children will be engaged in healthy play while parents learn more about nutrition

Fundraisers:

Dance-a-thon: raised ~$400 more than last year. Prizes to be awarded at kick-off for next fundraiser.

Chocolate sales: to start next week. Great prizes for top sellers!

Popcorn: May or June

Possible uses for raised funds

• electronics to enhance DPA experience (example: iPod, Wii)
• yard games for outdoor play at recess

Parent Literacy Workshop
